Don't panic, this is not just another ordinary winter camping blog. You probably already know enough about snow chains, parking heaters, power connections and all the other winter hacks for your vehicle. This article is about available winter pitches, because after all, you want to travel with your equipped motorhome or van.
Have you ever set off in winter with your camper and wanted to spend the night spontaneously and legally in a ski resort to be the first on the mountain in the morning, free from traffic chaos? If so, you know the problem: "Just go for it" is difficult when it comes to finding a pitch. Especially in winter, ski resorts are not geared to the needs of today's campers - or at least they haven't been until now.
Of course, there are many winter campsites in the Alps that you have to book six months in advance. If the weather coincides with the booked period, you can enjoy your planned vacation or weekend there, provided nothing comes up. Otherwise, you're usually stuck with high cancellation fees.
We at Parkn'Sleep do things differently, of course:
According to a survey at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, 87% of campers prefer to spontaneously decide on a place to stay instead of making a reservation. That's why you'll find Parkn'Sleep you will only find pitches that can be accessed at any time and without a reservation. After all, why do you have 4 wheels? Not to make fixed travel plans!
