Spontaneous travel by camper is currently very popular. Many campers want to be flexible - but legal and spontaneously available sites are usually hard to find. Campsites that only work with reservation systems cannot cover the ever-growing target group. Although in practice there are often 2-3 empty pitches, even during the high season.
Unexpected cancellations and a small remaining stock of places for safety are normal and the need to efficiently rent out even the last place in the high season is not always given. It is preferable to take care of existing reservations instead. Tools for renting out remaining pitches to spontaneous campers have not existed until now.
The Swiss start-up company "Parkn'Sleep" has developed a solution for precisely this purpose: Campers from all over Europe can see available pitches on the web application "Parkn'Sleep", drive to them spontaneously and check in and pay on site using a QR sign.
Parkn'Sleep was successfully launched in Switzerland in 2021 and received the highest innovation award in Swiss tourism in autumn. With the concept, visitor flows can be controlled in the region and even detached campers can be assessed as "real" guests.
Municipalities, campsites and tourism regions receive a useful Tool tool that reflects modern motorhome tourism. Parkn'Sleep is now ready for the European market: providers can register and use the system for free - without setup costs, monthly fees or contract periods.
Campsite operators from all over Europe can advertise their sites at www.parknsleep.app and then receive the signage with an individual QR code free of charge.
The Registration and start-up is also free of charge and takes about 15 minutes. Costs are only incurred at check-in; Parkn'Sleep charges a 15% service fee (incl. payment fee) on the overnight costs of the camper.
If the advertisement is listed, arriving campers can check in independently on pitches day and night. Even campers who are not yet familiar with the web app can easily find their way around and check in using the signposting.
A modern overview offers the operator an automated management of his pitches. Settings and changes can be made in real time. For example, availabilities can be adjusted or pitches can be paused seasonally or by the day.
